Okay, I realize that Monday's are typically days to ease into the work week - but I came across this information about Wild Free-Roaming Horses being euthanized and slaughtered and thought you should know about it. Please read the American Herds Special Features - they need your help to save our fabric of our American natural landscape. America's wild horses and burrows need your support. in 2004, Senator Conrad burns lipped in a secret amendment authorizing the government to begin selling captured wild horses and burrows again for slaughter "without limitation" until all the "excess" wild horses and burros have been disposed of. As of June 2008 over 33,000 wild horses are now being warehoused in government holding facilities - and the BLM (bureau of land management) has said they can no longer afford to feed the horses and proposed the horses be sent to slaughterhouses or BLM wants the authority to kill them outright in their pens. The killing of tens of thousands of wild horses and burros may begin as early as November of this year. You can help by clicking on the link and tell BLM that "No! This is not an option!" http://www.blm.gov/wo/st/en/prog/wild_horse_and_burro/feedback.html
I did you can too - you can read more about this at the link below - send me an email and tell me what you think too... liz@ktco.fm
On another note...
Food for Happy thoughts? You betcha! Some great feel good foods are apricots, asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, chicken, lentils, milk, motzarella, pumpin seeds, shrimp, soybeans, spinach, tuna, oatmea, eggs, banana, yogurt, baked potatos, pistachios, prunes, salmon, brown rice and so much more. Try eating some of these foods for a week or even a day and see if you feel different, feel satisfied and smiling.
JD has promised to try some of these foods this week - lets see if it works. :)
Until tomorrow...
Have a beautiful day!
Liz
